Tamanna is perhaps the fastest-rising female star in Kollywood today. The actress, who made her debut with KD, is currently the toast of Kollywood, having bagged the offer from the prestigious AVM Productions to act opposite Suriya in Ayan. Now, the actress has added Padikkadhavan, one more high-profile film to her kitty opposite Dhanush. The film has already created a buzz in the trade circles, thanks to its title, which was also the title of a Rajnikanth superhit of the 80s. Padikkadhavan, directed by Suraj (who gave the hit Marudhamalai last year), to be produced by Vijaya Productions, with music by Mani Sharma, is expected to kick off by early April. Tamanna plays an innocent role that also has of humour. According to certain sources, the unit had also considered the bubbly Genelia, but since she was busy with her earlier commitments, the team settled for the gorgeous Tamanna.
